<SUMMER MEMORIES>

《여름 기억》은 ‘여름’이 우리 안에 남긴 감각과 기억의 자리를 따라가는 전시입니다. 이번 전시는 서로 다른 물성을 다루는 세 명의 작가 김균철, 신예원, 정희기가 모여, 각기 다른 재료와 세대적 관점으로 ‘여름’이라는 계절을 입체적인 예술 언어로 재구성하여 펼쳐 보입니다. 우리에게 여름은 단순한 계절의 풍경을 넘어, 몸이 기억하는 촉감과 찰나의 장면들로 존재합니다.

김균철은 설계와 실제 사이의 ‘오차’를 결함이 아닌 조형적 언어로 수용하며 사형주조 기법의 알루미늄 가구와 오브제를 만듭니다.

신예원은 폴리카프로락톤(PCL)과 주름관이라는 산업 재료를 활용해 반복적인 구조와 물성을 공예적 감각으로 재해석합니다.

정희기는 섬유, 한지, 나무와 같은 자연 소재 위에 몸이 기억하는 여름의 감각들을 바느질과 드로잉, 입체적인 조형 작업으로 기록합니다. 마치 어린 시절 꾹꾹 눌러 쓴 여름 방학의 일기처럼, 겹겹이 쌓인 계절의 감정들을 다정하고 세밀하게 복원해냅니다.

특별히 이번 전시는 단오에 부채를 나누며 건강한 여름을 기원하던 ‘하선동력례(夏扇冬曆)’의 풍습을 함께 되새깁니다. 남원 최수봉 부채와 리빙 아이템을 큐레이션하는 림세샵과 작가 정희기가 기획한 “HIGI edition” 부채를 통해, 여름의 생활문화가 지닌 공예적 가치를 현재의 시선으로 이어갑니다.

여름의 문장들을 하나의 전시 언어로 풀어낸 《여름 기억》을 통해 마음속에 잠들어 있던 소중한 여름의 감각을 깨워보시기 바랍니다.

《Summer Memories》 is an exhibition exploring the sensations and memories that summer leaves within us. Bringing together three artists working with distinct materials—Kyunchul Kim, Yewon Shin, and Higi Jung—the exhibition reinterprets summer through different materials and perspectives. More than a season, summer remains with us as fleeting scenes and sensory memories held by the body.

Kyunchul Kim
He embraces the ‘error’ between design and reality as a formative language, creating aluminum furniture and objects through sand casting.

Yewon Shin
Using industrial materials such as polycaprolactone (PCL) and corrugated tubes, she reinterprets repetitive structures and materiality through a craft-based approach.

Higi Jung
Working with fiber, Hanji (traditional Korean paper), and wood, she records sensory memories of summer through stitching, drawing, and sculptural forms, delicately restoring the layered emotions of the season.

Limse Shop
The exhibition also revisits the tradition of Haseon Dongryeok (夏扇冬曆), in which fans were shared on Dano to wish for a healthy summer. Through the “HIGI edition” fan, co-created by Limse Shop and Higi Jung, the craft value of summer lifestyle culture is reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective.
